Resolved Question: Desktop background will not display?
So I don’t understand why my computer is doing this all of the sudden but my background will not display. It goes back to the color, even when I change it or I click on a picture to add it as my background. As well, the icons on some pictures will not load until I change the size. Another thing: maybe I was impatient but I tried to log into my guest account just to see if the background was working. It was just completely back: no icons, no background, no task bar. I can see pictures just fine and I can watch movies and stuff. When I go and change the background, it gives me a blurry picture icon and its location is ‘roaming.” Can someone help me on this issue? Any suggestions?

I also have another question: my computer is running over 100 processes… is there reliable software to detect processes I don’t need and some spyware that I can use that will detect things that Malwarebytes can’t?
Sorry. After I logged out of my guest profile. The situation did no change. Just elaborate on the Main acct, what the issue was.

Resolved Question: ATI Graphics Drivers wont install?
I have been given a 4 or so year old computer off of my dad. It is a Dell Dimension 5000.
I am running Windows XP 32-bit and the VDU is currently plugged into an ATI Radeon x300 video card.
After having to reinstall windows I think the computer is running through the built in video card though because i cannot use my old 1440 x 900 resolution or play any games. I thought i would have to reinstall the drivers so i went to the ATI website and downloaded them, but when i try to install them i just get some error messages and a failure log come up.
In device manager there is no Display Adapters and if i run dxdiag there is nothing under display so i don’t know what the computer is currently running through.
I don’t have the ATI discs anymore so I need to use the online drivers. How can i over come the error messages?
This is the driver i am downloading.
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx
The errors i get are: Catalyst Install Manager failed to initialise; Catalyst Install Manager failed to initialise Package Manager;
And then i just get this error log:
