Resolved Question: What games could I play on my PC?

Hi everyone, I don’t normally play PC games as i usually stick to the good old Xbox but lately I’ve become a bit history obsessed and fancy a go with the total war series. I’ve bought Rome and medieval 2. I have just bought Empire total war but when checking the requirements they look slightly demanding for my PC- Here are the specs:

Resolved Question: How to fix a monitor out of range?

I used Steam to install Team Fortress 2 and when I tried to start it the screen went black and said ‘Frequency out of range’. Now I can’t even get to my desktop when I restart my computer. I tried starting it in that VGA mode were the resolution is only 640 x 480 and installing new drivers for the monitor but nothing has worked. I can only get into safe mode were I can’t change the resolution or refresh rate. I even tried using the monitor itself to change the resolution but it didn’t work.
My monitor tells me it’s proper resolution is 1440 x 900 and the refresh rate is 60hz. I reset the monitor and, of course, it didn’t work. I know I had this issue before but I don’t remember how I fixed it…

Resolved Question: Can someone please help me with my minecraft?

I just bought minecraft and it’s not working. When I start it it says, ”
Bad video card drivers!
———————–

Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode.
This can usually be fixed by updating the video card drivers.

Resolved Question: Native resolution looks out of proportion?

Hi, I just recently updated my video drivers and images seem stretched horizontally. My monitor is a 19″ ViewSonic Q19wb-2 and the listed native resolution is 1440 x 900. That is the resolution that I am using right now. If I change it to any other resolution it will get back into proportion but it will be fuzzy. This problem did not exist before I updated my drivers. Thanks for the answers!

Resolved Question: Hardware Acceleration error messages?

Installed new printer and ever since screen resolution has been diminished (1440 x 900) - 22″ screen and unable to play games “Hardware acceleration is either disabled or not supported by your video card driver, which could slow game performance. Make sure you have the latest video card driver installed and that hardware acceleration is turned on.” I have checked the display settings in control panel and have tried updating the video card but get “code 37″ error (Intel(r) G45/G43 Express Chipset) and hardware acceleration is turned on, but any attempts to modify it result in an Unexpected Error - The new settings could not be saved to registry.

WHat am I doing wrong? This is a fairly new Gateway ZX4930 PC (pc/monitor in one piece) and I would like to fix it without having to unplug everything & haul it off to Best Buy…thanks!!!

Resolved Question: Help with my computer monitor’s resolution?

I just installed a new monitor on my computer, I have updated the drivers to both the monitor and for the video card.

I set the resolution at 1440 x 900 on a 22 inch widescreen monitor.

Everything looks fine but seems a little ‘off’ fonts and such seem a little too close together in some lettering and it seems slightly ‘off’ and it is a little hard on the eyes cause I have to squint to make it look right.

Any ideas?

I have a Samsung 223BW and an ATI Radeon HD 2400 video card.
