Resolved Question: Problem with graphics card?

Hello,
Today I was using my computer the same was I used to since I have a computer but suddenly, the resolution changed automatically from 1440 x 900 to 1024 x 768. I reinstalled Windows 7 on my computer to see if the problem was solved. When I booted up the computer, I was able to change my screen resolution to 1440 x 900 but when I installed the driver for my graphics card, the resolution was gone. Instead, there are lots of different choices for resolutions but only the 1440×900 is missing. I would like to know what I should do to be able to change my resolution back to 1440×900 as soon as possible because I`m a very active Gamer and I have a competition on Sunday.

@ The first one who answered. I said that I had the latest driver and that I tried doing what you told me to do but it did not work.

This iPad 2 Is Bleeding

Well, it’s bleeding, yes, but the “blood” is backlight poking through around the edges of the screen, as defective LCD screens are wont to do. Ultimately, we’re unsure whether or not this is a widespread issue. More »

Voting Question: Did the Geek Squad install the wrong drivers?

Well, about 2 weeks ago, I dropped in my Alienware M17x at the Geek Squad so they can fix some graphics card problem. When I got the computer back, the graphics were HORRIBLE. I can’t even run Minecraft on good settings let alone World of Warcraft on fair settings. Before they fixed it, DXdiag said I had the Geforce 260M, and it worked good for me (Excluding the issues) When they gave it back, Dxdiag said the graphics card was totally different (See Info Below)

What is happening?
What should I do? (I am not TOO computer savvy)
Points to the best!

Resolved Question: I’ve built my own computer.?

Which leads my to believe somewhere along the way either I’ve done something wrong or a part is being wonky. By and large my computer seems to be working. I can browse the internet and play less demanding games and programs for hours without any difficulty. However, whenever I begin to play anything that might even begin to be graphically demanding in the slightest (WoW, Oblivion, Rift) my monitor will within a short period of time flicker to one a monitor error screen of either “No input found” or “Signal is out of reach”.

I wish there was some consistency to what happened next but there isn’t. This has happened three times in one day. The first time it happened the screen never recovered and I had to manually
restart my computer. The second time the computer restarted on its own. The third and final time the monitor flickered back on to a bunch of vertical navy blue bars.

I’ve updated the drivers for my GPU already that didn’t fix the problem. From here, I’m really not all that sure. No blue screen ever appears to my knowledge though, making me believe that it is card related. But then again, I don’t really know all that much about diagnosing computer problems (which is why I’m here :D) I’m almost certain I’m not just overrunning my parts abilities, they all aren’t exactly top end but they all seem to exceed (sometimes greatly) the max settings on a number of these programs.

So, with that I’ll leave some specs I suppose and see if you folks can’t help me or point me towards a better source for help.

OS: Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600)
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Card name: ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
Current Mode: 1440 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Motherboard: ASUS M4A77TD AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard

My monitor is also a 19″ Hanns-G
Alright then. My two tower fans are pointing whichever way they’ve been installed beforehand (outward from the looks of it) Additional fans such as the CPU Heatsink, GPU Fan and Power Supply fan are all properly up and running, I even watched the things with an open case during one attempt to make sure.

During these monitor errors the GPU nor CPU fans ever shut off until I manually shutdown the computer. All the temps seem to be running at a pretty decent level.

HDD, CPU and Mobo temps never went above 40C according to speccy and the graphics card only went up to 42 according to CCC before the monitor errors would occur. I rule out monitor fault in anyway due to it being only after launching more graphically demanding games for a short period of time, if I’m just on the internet or playing less demanding games (Minecraft, LoL) everything is just dandy for hours.

Just for the heck of it even I unplugged and removed the graphics card and then reinserted it just to make sure it wasn’t

Open Question: Monitor not working? Resolution Issue.?

I’ve had my montior for a couple of years now, and it’s worked fine. However, yesterday I did a format of my SSD and reinstalled windows - Now when I set the monitor to its native resolution (1680×1050) it just goes blank, nothing on it.
However when I change it to 1440 x 900 It workes just fine (Looks a little fuzzy though)
Now, My question is how can I make the screen run it’s native resolution?

I’ve already tried updating graphics drivers - No Joy
Tried rolling back graphics drivers - No Joy
The monitor doesn’t have any drivers because its GNR.

Help?!
