Resolved Question: Windows 7 resolution problem…?

Hello!
I’ve installed windows 7 pro 64bit…(i have radeon 5570)
installed the latest catalyst drivers & it set the resolution to the annoying recommended 1440 x 900
resolution which is awfull…I need to change to 1024 x 768 or at least 1280 x 800..but it doesnt fill the screen on neither of them…(and the auto fit button on my preview monitor doesnt work…)
Help me please!
The problem with 1440 x 900 is that evrything is too small for me…I dont have 100% eyesight..not even close…so i need to reduce the resolution….

Voting Question: Photoshop CS5: Tools keep switching while I’m using them! Is anyone having this problem and is there a fix?

Hello all,
I am having an issue with Photoshop CS5 (Windows). When using the keyboard, the current tool I am using will switch to a different one! For example, these are the steps I take when the problems occur:
1. open document
2. Ctrl + Alt 0 for actual pixels
3. Spacebar + click and drag down to move to specific part
4. T for text tool
5. click on text
6. Type “hello world”
7. Ctrl + Enter to finish writing
8. V
9. Click and drag content
10. T to select and edit a different block of text
11. Press left key twice
1. Photohsop escapes the text and changes the tool back to Move Tool (V)
2. Press T again to go back to text tool

Something else it is doing is the use of keyboard in Layer Style (something I didn’t realise was linked until now)
1. T (text tool) in use
2. double click layer for layer style,
3. Select Color Overlay
1. chose color with mouse (#ff0000)
2. change opacity with keyboard (type 50)
3. press up to change opacity to 60
Screen flickers, Photoshop defaults to Move Tool
4. Press OK to confirm Layer Style
Nothing happens (Layer style stays open)
5. Press Enter to confirm Layer Style
Nothing happens (Layer style stays open)
5. Press Escape
Layer Style closes, sometimes it keeps what I have done, sometimes it doesn’t!

I’m very dependant on keyboard shortcuts and I’ve tried a variety of combinations of the first steps (1 - 11) e.g. without using Ctrl, alt or spacebar.

All of these actions seem to be linked with the keyboard, however Photoshop is the only application on my computer that demonstrates this sort of behavior.

Recent attempts to correct it:
Uninstalled and re-installed Photoshop
Updated hardware drivers
Cleared Preffs
Updated photoshop
OpenGL on and off, with basic, normal and advanced
Legacy Keyboard on and off
UI Language as English UK
Cache Levels changed to 8 and Cahce Tile Size to 1028k (seriously increased performance! but no fix)
Type settings unticked all.
Disabled dual screen.
Corrected “Alt” menu shortcut locking the keyboard (this wasn’t an issue in the first place but wanted to be sure)

_____________EDIT____________________

crsimon36, thanks for the feedback, scrolling through text while editing is a normal thing to do, considering the need for correcting spelling mistakes, adding to and editing text; text editing is only one example to the extent of the problem to iterate the above.
I would consider myself an advanced Photoshop user, and as I have said, I depend heavily on Keyboard shortcuts to switch between tool, the problem occurs on any tool that requires me to use the keyboard.

Raven,
I’ve tried all of the OpenGL settings and unfortunately, none of them have made a difference, I’m not experiencing any errors in terms of images. I’m not too hasty to dismiss the problem could in fact be that I need more RAM, but software performance suggests this is not the issue as I rarely experience lagging of any kind, although mostly due to the performance from the i5 processor and the FX 580 graphics card.
Unfortunately, I don’t have an alternative for the scratch-disk, th
