Also I want to know if a better processor is what I need or a better video card. My gaming is really choppy It lags a lot. Help?
I am going to end up getting one or the other later on. If I get a new video card. The next year I will get a new processor. Just want to know which to get first.
Never mind I went with NVIDIA GeForce GT 220

LG Hopes To Sell Ambitious 3.8m 3D TVs in Next 2 Years, But Who’s Buying?

LG’s just stolen ahead in the 3D TV wars, claiming it will sell 400,000 3D TVs during 2010, and in the following year a mahoosive 3.4 million units.

Putting its money where its mouth is, LG’s also joined forces with the Korean SkyLife, one of the largest 3D TV broadcasters in the world. Aiming to create industry standards, and do for 3D TV what Sony did for Blu-ray, they’ll work together to ensure those ambitious sales targets are met.

Ultra-slim bezels are part of LG’s hook, which supposedly help the 3D image pop with more effect. No doubt we’ll be seeing more products launch next month at CES, such as these 42-72-inch models and 150-inch projectors which LG’s been spouting off about, as so far it’s only launched the 47-inch 47LH50 and 23-inch LCD monitor in Korea. Remainders - The Good, Bad and Ugly Things We Didn’t Post (and Why)

Today in the last frontier otherwise known as Remainders, we’ve got a mysterious (possibly viral) video involving an apartment stowaway, a prank featuring gay porn and an LCD TV, and a surefire way to kill your Facebook self.

Video Shows Mysterious Stranger Hiding Out in NYC Apartment Crawlspace

This is a video that’s been making the rounds lately, but I’ve never seen it and it sparked a lot of discussion amongst the staff this morning. That it’s fake we could all agree on, but exactly why—that we couldn’t decide. A viral video? But for what? What could be the purpose of faking such an odd thing, besides hundreds of thousands of YouTube views? Take a look and see for yourself. [YouTube]

Free LCD TV—Nevermind the Burned-In Gay Porn

This is a pretty great prank. I’ll let the Craigslist listing explain it:

My room mate thought it would be “hysterical” to pause gay porn on my TV while my girlfriend and I were on vacation for 2 weeks, thus burning and image into the screen. So…If you dont mind a sillouette of a skinny white guy taking a load in the face from the biggest black penis in recorded history forever adorning your new TV, Its yours.

Childish, yes. Hilarious, also yes. [Craigslist]

Facebook Allows Users to Gift iTunes Giftcards to Other Users

This ends up in Remainders because I am literally snoring right now, as I type this, but Facebook is now allowing users to buy and deliver iTunes giftcards through the site. You can choose which date the gift will be delivered (like, say, a birthday), which is actually a pretty nice feature. This is, unfortunately, US-only for now, because people who hate freedom enough to resist living in the Land of the Free don’t deserve iTunes gift cards. [TUAW]

Seppukoo Lets You Kill Your Facebook Self

It sounds kind of interesting in theory: An entire site dedicated to eradicating Facebook profiles. It must be some kind of statement on avoiding association with social networking, right? Well, no; it’s actually just another social networking site, trying to get you to cancel your account with the most popular one. It’s not going so well, either—apparently only six people “killed” their profiles yesterday. [Techie]

Taiwanese LCD Maker Must Pay $220 Million for Price-Fixing Conspiracy

Chi Mei Optoelectronics, a major LCD maker who sells to companies including Apple, HP and Dell, has admitted to a wide-scale price fixing conspiracy between late 2001 and late 2006. The details are being kept under wraps, but Chi Mei has pled guilty to the charges in a San Francisco court, and in addition to the monetary penalty, nine executives are also under investigation. Resolved Question: computer shuts off when in SLI mode?

oh hai. so i have a apevia 750w PS its supposed to be SLI ready…
i plug up my 2 9800gtx+’s and start almost any game and it shuts off. it runs fine with 1 9800gtx+ but shuts down all the time with two, i sent a email to a some guy at apevia and im waiting for a reponse but in the mean time maybe yahoo can help me:) heres the email i sent it stated: I called the apevia support office today but you were not there so a lady took my name and phone number for you to call me back at, that is 615-587-8467 and my name is Eric Young.
My problem today is that i have 2 9800gtx+’s in SLI mode, but it seems that the power supply cant handle it. The last time i checked it seems to say its SLI ready. i have no problem running a single 9800gtx+ but when i put the second one in it randomly shuts off when playing games or running big programs. I also noticed you can change the voltage with the screw driver that came with it, but i dont have the screw driver that came with it and im not sure how to read the led display. “With adjustable output voltages, users can use the included screw driver to adjust the output of +3.3V or +5V or +12V within a safe range to suit their special needs.”-http://www.pricescan.com/Apevia-750W-ATX-Quartz-Power-Power-Supply/co/219560.html#LongDesc

im guessing i would have to set the voltage to +12V but i dont know… anyway, contact me through this email preferably. or if more to your convenience call me at 615-587-8467
some time after 3central would be best because thats when i can be at my computer. other than that you can email me any time of the day and i check it almost hourly.

Resolved Question: How do i know if a CPU is compatible?

I’m trying to upgrade my old Intel E2160 1.8GHz processor to a 3.0ghz one. I’m very new to purchasing CPUs so i have a few questions:
1. How hard is it to upgrade a CPU?
2. How do I know if a CPU will be compatible with my motherboard (or any other component of my system)?
3. What would be the best approach to start looking for a CPU?

A little info on my computer, it’s a Inspiron 530s that i got on a whim cuz it was really cheap at Staples. Bad choice. But I’ve added an ATI Radeon X1300 PRO, the best low-profile graphics card i could get at the time.

Here’s my DxDiag (without the drivers or directshow filters):
