Resolved Question: Weird resolution problem, blurry if set according to aspect ratio with the exception of max setting?

So i bought a 19″ Samsung syncmaster 931cw
which is a widescreen (16:10) LCD flat panel
the question is, when i set the resolution on windows
(I use Vista btw) according to the 16:10 ratio, it comes out
rather blurry, not sharp at all, with the exception of the max widescreen resolution which is 1440 X 900

When i set the resolution to something lower ignoring the fact that it’s widescreen and setting it as a regular monitor such as
1280 x 1024 , 1152 x 864 even the lowest, 800 x 600 shows up sharper.

I have it set at 1440 X 900 right now and it’s very very sharp, would leaving it at maximum resolution shorten the monitor’s life? and why is it acting this way? the driver was successfully installed and the graphic chipset is ATI Radeon Xpress 1250(integrated)

Resolved Question: Windows ME doesn’t support 1440 x 900 resolution mode???

Why my graphic card MX440 64MB doesn’t work with 1440 x 900 resolution on Windows ME? It works perfectly on Windows XP. I have installed the latest driver from NVidia as well as install the monitor driver but still can’t get the proper resolution.

Resolved Question: I just bought an Acer 19″ monitor, resolution should be set at 1440 x 900, my computer doesn’t go that high?

It says to make sure you have installed the latest graphics card driver . . . would that help with my resolution? Also, in control panel, I do not think the computer has recognized that there is a new monitor . . . how do I change that? Or doesn’t that matter??
